Frequently asked questions
What do I need to do?
Click on the Donate button and choose an image to upload. If you wish, you can leave a message of support for a loved one who has been affected by cancer or someone who has helped you or your family. Make your donation and you’ll then be able to see your selfie and message on the Raise a Mug wall of support.
You can share your image on the wall with friends and family on social media or by email.
I usually host a Coffee Morning - why are you asking me to donate?
We very much appreciate your previous support and hope you will host again this year - please click here if you’d like to sign up to host a Coffee Morning again. You’ll also be able to find ideas for hosting a socially distanced or virtual coffee morning.
We know that some supporters may not be able to host a Coffee Morning this year, so we’re offering them a different way to show their support for people living with cancer.
I don’t want to put a picture or message on the wall, I just want to donate.
No problem! You can simply skip that part of the online form and go straight to making a donation and there won’t be anything posted on the wall.
I don’t want to be on the wall any more.
If you would like us to remove your post from the wall, please call 0300 1000 200 then we can remove your image and message.
I donated the other day but when I looked just now, I’m not there.
The wall can only hold a certain number of images, but you can see more images by clicking on the 'View more’ button under the wall. Alternatively, you can type your name into the Search box at the top of the wall.
How can I find my photo and message on the wall again?
Once you’ve donated you’ll see a link that you can share on social media or by email, and your thank you email will also contain a link. If you come back to the site to have a look, you can search for yourself by entering your name into the Search box at the top of the wall.
What is Gift Aid and am I eligible?
Make every £1 worth 25p more at no extra cost to you. It’s just a little box to tick but gift aid makes a huge difference when it comes to how much money we can raise to support people living with cancer.
To be eligible to add gift aid to your donation, you must be a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less income tax and/or capital gains tax then the amount of gift aid claimed on all donations made in that tax year it’s your responsibility to pay any difference.
Find out more about Gift Aid here.
Why is there a fee charged on my donation?
Funraisin, are the fundraising platform who have built and host our new Raise a Mug wall of support. We pay them a 3% fee on all donations we receive, excluding Gift Aid. Supporters have the option to add a little extra to cover this if they wish to.
